How can The Harley Street Eye Clinic treat vitreous haemorrhage?

Patients with vitreous haemorrhages and diabetes require careful surveillance because if the haemorrhage does not resolve on its own and it is left untreated for too long, the diabetes can affect the back of the eye starving the retina of oxygen, at which point it may be too late for adequate treatment to preserve eyesight.

Vitreous haemorrhage

If you have diabetes, then you may benefit from removal of the vitreous haemorrhage by vitrectomy surgery. If you do not have diabetes, then the vitreous haemorrhage may subside naturally and if not, then our vitreo-retinal surgeon may suggest that removal of the vitreous humour and the associated haemorrhage is the best course of action.
